Friday 6th May 

7.30pm - Pilgrim's Delight - Music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque, featuring the

Polyphonica Trio and Sarah Small and Friends. This unusual and colourful programme will be played 

on authentic instruments, including recorder, viola da gamba and theorbo.

 

Saturday 7th May 

11.00am - Lecture / Piano Recital  - A belated 250th birthday present for Beethoven (1770-1827)

Together with Oksana King (piano) Vivienne Olive will help you understand why this composer has had 

such a lasting influence and remains one of the most important composers ever to have lived. Followed by:

 

Picnic in the church grounds (Bring your own packed lunch. Drinks will be on sale)

 

2.00pm - Piano Duets - A concert of seldom heard piano duets played by Oksana King and Andrew King. The programme will include works by Beethoven, Stravinsky, Ravel, the Ukrainian composer, Yudif Rozhavskaya, and women composers. 

 

7.30pm - An Evening of Poetry and Song - A celebration of words and music performed by 

local poets and musicians.

'Wordplay' is a small group of performers from Brixworth Church of All Saints who enjoy scribbling lines and sharing poetry. Stuart Cooper will perform music from his musical drama 'Wonderland' with a number of other local musicians, including singer Sam Pickles. Guest artists will be Gwion Thomas and Chloe Willson Thomas who will perform a selection of solos and duets, both light and classical.

 

Sunday 8th May 

 

2.00pm - Organ Recital - Ian Clarke will play a programme of works including Bach and Hindemith, as well as the prize-winning work of the 2019 Competition for Women Composers by Florence Anna Maunders.

3.30pm - Young Musicians and Singers* - A varied programme to round off the festival and give talented young musicians from the area a chance to perform in public. Including the NMPAT Guitar Octet, as well as young instrumentalists and the Year II Choir of Spratton Hall School.
